It is not uncommon for designers to have to write a text from time to time. Be it an advertising text, a design critique, in emails, or to explain their own work in their portfolio. (very meta, I know)
Sometimes we Designers struggle to find the right words. Thats why I took not only one, but two design writing classes, where I learned the basics of journalistic writing, how to properly interview somebody and to find the right balance between formal and informal language.
I curated some of my favurite texts I wrote during the seminar in a little Magazine. Including a comment about racist branding as well as an interview with a toothbrush.
