Kritmed

Coverdesign for a reader on the topic of discrimination in the mediacal sector

The reader focused on three areas of discrimination: racism, sexism, and classism. To represent these complex concepts, I created symbols: a patch, predominantly sold in light beiges, to reflect how Black individuals are often overlooked in the medical field; a blister to represent gender-biased medicine testing, and an insurance card to symbolize unequal healthcare access. The Font chosen for this project project was generously provided for free my Typographer Charlotte Rhode. Calyces Inc. features an enlarged asterix glyph, which is used for gender inclusive language in German.

The reader was handed out to first semester medicine students in Munich and, by popular request, sent to several universities throughout Germany.
